Breast screening is a routine screening programme for all women over 50 years of age.
A mobile service operates in Sussex, and all women will be invited by their 53rd birthday (not necessarily at 50) depending on where the mobile units are at the time.
If you are registered with a GP you will be called when the mobile screening unit is covering your area.
The mobiles visit each site and do each GPs whole list every three years. You will receive the same number of screening invitations between your 50th and 71st birthdays as all other women.
Women aged over 70 are not routinely invited for screening but are entitled to refer themselves, when the mobile unit is in their area, if they have not been screened for 3 years. Please contact your local service to arrange this:
