Sun safety
There are about 150 new melanoma cases in Sussex each year, which is the most dangerous form of skin cancer. Numbers have risen since people started to take more foreign holidays and generally expose themselves to the sun much more at home.
Cancer Research UK has launched the SunSmart code
- Spend time in the shade between 11am and 3pm
- Make sure you never burn
- Aim to cover up with T shirt, hat and sunglasses
- Remember to take extra care with children
- Then use factor 15+ sunscreen (sun cream)
