Oesophagus cancer

Cancer of the oesophagus (gullet), stomach and pancreas are known as upper gastrointestinal cancers. Your own doctors, nurses and others in your health care team are the only people who can tell you about your particular cancer and its treatment.

However, if you would like to read some general information, the suggested websites on this page may be helpful.

Treatment for cancer of the oesophagus will be shared between your local hospital and the Sussex Cancer Centre in Brighton. All surgical involvement for your cancer will be performed at Brighton. If you require chemotherapy and live in either Hastings or Eastbourne you will have your chemotherapy at Hastings. Occasionally you may have chemotherapy at Brighton. If you need radiotherapy as part of your treatment then this will be given at Brighton.
