Squamous cell carcinoma

Squamous cell carcinoma is a cancer of the outermost layer of skin cells.

It can appear as a scaly or crusty patch of skin usually bigger than 1 cm (but may be smaller) that won’t heal.

Non-melanoma skin cancers usually develop on exposed body parts such as the face, neck, ears, forearms and hands, and are most common in older age groups.
