Testicular cancer

Treatment for testicular cancer is generally very successful, even if the cancer has spread beyond the testicles.

There are two types of testicular cancer

There are different treatment options for testicular cancer depending on the type of cancer and whether there has been any spread.

Treatment involves surgery, which will be undertaken at your local hospital. Further treatment will then be discussed with the clinical oncologist and depending on what type of cancer you have and whether there has been any spread beyond the testes. Following surgery other treatment will be chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

You should be advised about sperm banking if you are to receive chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Sussex Cancer Network board have agreed that very occasionally specialist testicular surgery will occur at the Marsden Hospital.
