SCN cancer commissioning group

Purpose

To oversee commissioning processes for cancer services, including local specialist and tertiary cancer services, for the SCN’s organisations ensuring the commissioning process works effectively.

To provide a cancer network-wide corporate arrangement for defined aspects of cancer service commissioning which would be subject to national standards and peer review.

The group will be informed by the Network’s Clinical Advisory Group and include patient and public involvement as described within the Network’s Patient and Public Involvement Strategy.

Since June 2006 this group has been meeting jointly with the Lead Managers Group on a monthly basis.
