Unfortunately, due to local NHS reconfigurations, this group has not met since March 2006. It will reconvene when each local PCT has a Primary Care Cancer Lead to represent them and enable the meeting to be facilitated properly.
The Primary Care Cancer Leads Group is responsible for facilitating the implementation and dissemination of decisions and recommendations of the Network Executive Board, the Clinical Advisory Group and national policy (e.g. NHS Cancer Plan) within the network to primary care organisations.
The Primary Care Cancer Leads Group supports the Primary Care Cancer Leads from organisations within the Sussex Cancer Network to ensure the development and implementation of best practice in the prevention and management of cancer in accordance with the NHS Cancer Plan, the Manual of Cancer Services (2004) and NICE Guidance on Commissioning – Improving Outcomes in Cancer (IOG) and StHA Strategic Change Programme.
