The purpose of this toolkit is to provide Network Groups and individuals with a simple summary of actions and tools to develop a Cancer Patient Information Pathway.
The first item you will find is a poem written by Elspeth Murray, a poet and cancer patient from Scotland. Elspeth has kindly given us permission to reproduce her poem, which she has used part of a communication skills training course for health professionals with SCAN Cancer Information Network.
We think Elspeth’s poem is brilliant as it reflects the feelings of many of the patients and family members we have met during the course of the Macmillan Cancer Patient Information Project and shows why good quality information is so vital.
