Nourishing drinks

There could be times when you are not able to eat or have lost your appetite.  On these occasions try a nourishing drink to replace a meal.  Below are some of the recipes for nourishing drinks:

Fortified milk:

Ingredients
1 pint whole milk
2 oz (4 tablespoons) skimmed milk powder

Directions
Add the milk powder to the milk and whisk. Use in tea, coffee, malted drinks, milkshakes, soups, cereals, and sauces or just drink it on its own

Yoghurt drink:

Ingredients:
1 small tub yoghurt
1 cup fortified milk
1 tablespoon skimmed milk powder

Directions
Blend together and serve.

Tipsy special:

Ingredients
Large cup Fortified milk
1 teaspoon Honey
1 tablespoon Whiskey/Brandy

Directions
Heat milk until hot. Blend all ingredients and serve cold.

Cup-a-soup:

Ingredients
1 sachet Cup-a-soup
200ml (1/3 pint) Fortified milk

Directions
Heat the milk until hot.
Add milk to the cup-a-soup stirring continuously.

After eight:

Ingredients
1 sachet Chocolate Build-up
½ pint Fortified milk
2 tablespoons Cream
2 oz (60g) Ice Cream
2 – 3 drops Peppermint essence

Directions
Blend ingredients and serve.

Tropical surprise:

Ingredients
½ pint Fortified milk
2 tablespoons Pineapple juice
½ ripe banana

Directions
Blend and serve immediately, well-chilled.
