Consultant

Cancer consultants are highly trained specialist doctors based in the hospital.

They are often the first person a patient sees when referred to the hospital by the GP. They are responsible for a patient's overall care and treatment.

These consultants may be either surgeons or medical, depending on the type of cancer and treatment needed.
